Determining which type of motor you need can be difficult. There are many different types today. There are many parameters that need to be addressed before you order. So how can this be done correctly?
First, you need to know the voltage sources available in your application. Electric motors can be classified as AC (alternating current) or DC (direct current). The AC type operates only on AC voltage and the DC type operates only on DC voltage. There is also a general purpose motor that can operate on both AC and DC voltages.
Once you have determined what power supply you have, you will need to decide which style is appropriate for your application. AC motors can be subdivided into: single-phase induction, three-phase induction, two-phase servo and hysteresis synchronization. DC motors can be subdivided into: brushless DC, brushed DC and stepper motor types.
Single-phase induction motors are connected to a single voltage line. An external capacitor is required to make this motor run. Different types of single-phase induction motors are distinguished by their starting method. The four basic types are: Split Phase, Capacitor Start, Permanently Split Capacitor, and Capacitor Start/Capacitor Run.
Once the motor reaches 75% of its rated speed, the split-phase motor uses a switching device to disconnect the start winding. Although this type has a simple design that makes it low cost for commercial use, it also has low starting torque and high starting current.
A capacitor starter motor is basically a split-phase capacitor motor with a capacitor in series with the start winding to generate more starting torque. Such motors are more expensive due to switch and capacitor requirements.
Permanently split capacitor motors do not have any start switch. For this type, the capacitor is permanently connected to the start winding. Since this capacitor needs to be used continuously, it does not provide starting power, so the starting torque is usually low. These motors are not recommended for restarting load applications. However, they do have low starting current, quieter operation, and higher lifetime/reliability, thus making them ideal for high cycle rates. They are also the most reliable capacitor motors since there is no start switch. They can also be designed for higher efficiency and power factor at rated load.
Capacitor start/capacitor run motors have both start and run capacitors in the circuit. Once start-up is achieved, the start-up capacitor will be cut off. This type of motor has higher starting, lower load current and higher efficiency. The downside is the expense of two capacitors and a switchgear. Reliability is also a factor due to the switching mechanism.
A three-phase induction motor winds three-phase AC voltage. These are the simplest and strongest motors available. Motors can be designed for DELTA or WYE connections. This type is designed for continuous use and high starting torque. The motor speed is relatively constant. If three-phase voltage is available, this is the motor of choice.

SPECIAL MOTOR FOR STONE MACHINERY
Zhejiang Pinyi Motor Co., Ltd. is leading China Special motor for stone machinery Manufacturers, a medium-sized enterprise with a registered capital of 10 million that integrates research, development, manufacturing, sales and after-sales service. It has a modern factory, new production and testing equipment, and a mature and complete manufacturing assembly accumulated over the years. In order to comprehensively consider the long-term strategic layout, and to ensure that products continue to have comprehensive advantages in the market, in 2013, the company integrated several upstream supplier companies and gathered a number of scientific research personnel in the important R&D links of motors to help our company's products to find the positioning of special machinery and equipment in the terminal market
